Policy brief: “Les échecs de la réforme de la loi 52 relative à la consommation et au trafic de stupéfiants”

Tunisia’s Law 52 on drug use and trafficking was reformed in 2017 to allow judges the discretion to assess mitigating circumstances in sentencing – a provision that has tended to exacerbate social inequalities rather than correct them. In February 2021, Avocats Sans Frontières and several partner organisations in Tunisia published a policy brief analysing the impact of Law 52.
